So we changed the story of Circe a little

You all know the story of Circe. Or maybe you don't. In case you don't, she's an Ancient Greek Goddess of magic. Or in some stories, she's just a sorceress. Whatever you believe her to be, legend has it that she was the daughter of Helios, the god of the sun, and Perse, a sea nymph.

We know her mainly from the Odyssey, where she livedin a mansion in the middle of dense woods. The forest is on an island.

Odysseus is trying to get home and ends up on her island. She doesn't want them to leave so she turns them all into pigs except Odysseus. They have a love affair and the rest is history. Yes, of course he gets away or else the story would have ended right there. I won't give away the rest though.

So, we wanted to give it a twist. We've always heard Odysseus's side of the tale. Why not hear Circe's?

Astral Eyes Curse of Circe Circe by Emile Levy

We decided to make you, the listener, Odysseus. Skitz, the singer, is the narrator. He's able to see things from her point of view.

So you broke her heart and she'll forever be in pain. Because, why not? As a band, we've always believed on erring on the side of epic. That goes for both music and lyrics. We liked the tale of Circe so we just ran with it.

The lyrics to Curse of Circe are here.

Note - Emile Levy died in 1890 so image is in public domain. We happen to like him because his subjects were often related to Ancient Greece and Rome.
