Up in Flames video Part 2 - locations
Nick filming a dance between Skitz and Alice
"Up in Flames" was shot in Butte County, California, outside of Chico. We
loved the area as it has enough variation to make the video interesting
and we didn't have to drive very far between locations. The scene above
had enough open space to make it interesting, was pretty accessible, and
was secluded enough that we could shoot without too many interruptions.
Nick brought two cameras. One he used for mobility and the other one he
always kept mounted. Both produced some fine shots. If you're curious
what cameras he used, let us know and we'll ask him next time we see him.
Another beautiful place to shoot
The final place we shot was halfway between Chico and Paradise.
Paradise is a very small town close to Chico. The whole area is quite
scenic and a great place for hiking or photography. And of course for
shooting a music video.
But then again, anywhere is good for shooting a
music video if you have a creative team. We are currently scouting
locations for the next video. More than likely, it will be in the San
Francisco Bay Area. We already have the location for the third video and
if you've seen a lot of old Westerns or some of the real bad 80s sword and
sorcery movies, you'll recognize the locations.
There's a reason why so many movies are shot in California. The state has
enough geologic diversity that no matter what shots you're looking for,
you could probably find a good place to shoot somewhere in California.
